We are looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer with strong technical leadership experience to take ownership of quality across complex, cloud-based systems. This role goes beyond test automation and focuses on test architecture, CI/CD integration, cloud quality strategy, and end-to-end ownership of QA deliverables.
You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure high-quality releases, scalable test solutions, and continuous quality improvements across the SDLC.
Responsibilities:
- Take end-to-end ownership of QA strategy and deliverables across multiple services and environments
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using JavaScript/TypeScript
- Act as a QA Technical Leader, defining test architecture, best practices, and quality standards
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable feedback (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Lead and coordinate testing activities in Agile/Scrum environments at scale
- Perform API and back-end automation testing to validate system integrations
- Ensure quality of applications deployed in Azure Cloud environments
- Execute and maintain performance and load testing (e.g., JMeter, k6)
- Apply security testing practices and contribute to overall product security posture
- Work with containerized environments (Docker) for test execution and environment setup
- Utilize cloud monitoring and observability tools to analyze quality metrics and Production issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks, improve quality metrics, and optimize delivery
- Mentor and support Test Engineers, promoting strong engineering and quality culture
Requirements:
- Strong experience as Test Engineer / Test Automation Engineer / SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)
- Proven experience as a QA Leader / SDET Leader / Technical Leader
- Performance and load testing experience (e.g., JMeter, k6, etc.)
- Hands-on expertise with WebDriver IO, Cypress, and Cucumber
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test orchestration, and pipeline automation – preferably using GitHub Actions
- Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript
- Strong understanding of test architecture, test design principles, test strategies, and quality metrics
- Experience with API Automation and back-end testing
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of QA deliverables
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum at scale
- English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher
Will be a plus:
- Experience with Sauce Labs or similar cloud testing platforms
- Strong experience testing applications deployed on Azure Cloud
- Experience with Docker and containerized environments (Docker)
- Knowledge of security testing practices
- Cloud monitoring and observability exposure
