We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work with our Customer who empowers organizations to conduct globally connected research and modernize research administration. Their industry-leading cloud-based research platform powers a suite of applications that maximizes researchers’ success, improves collaboration, and simplifies work across the entire research life cycle including commercialization and tracking of research outcomes. Its global community includes academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and health systems, government agencies, independent research institutions, and non-profit organizations.
The platform facilitates organized and efficient lab-to-market work on inventions. Built on user experience at Ohio State University, Duke University, Washington University in St. Louis, and others, it is designed to ensure data transparency and integrity, simplify access to information, and improve collaboration across the chain—from invention creation to commercialization—by supporting the entire life cycle of intellectual property management and providing necessary tools and resources to stakeholders. It allows users to manage intellectual property assets resulting from funded research while spending less time on administration and having more time for commercialization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain the features inside the application with PHP (Laravel) and Vue.js
- Create efficient, and reusable code following best practices
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate them with third-party services
- Develop responsive, high-performance front-end interfaces using Vue.js 3
- Design database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity
- Identify bottlenecks and optimize back-end and front-end performance
- Implement caching strategies
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders
- Document system architecture, APIs, and workflows
Requirements:
- Strong Knowledge of PHP
- Strong experience with the Laravel PHP Framework (for building web applications)
- Experience with Vue.js
- Experience with JavaScript
- Result-oriented attitude and ability to learn quickly
- Good team player’s mindset and great interpersonal skills
- English level – Upper-Intermediate or higher
Will be a plus:
- AWS exposure
- Terraform exposure
- Ability to help with team leading and solution designing activities
