Edvantis Hosts AI Agents Webinar: Why 95% of Enterprise AI Pilots Fail to Deliver Value
Rzeszów, Poland — September 24, 2025 — Edvantis hosted an online webinar “How to ‘Hire’ AI Agents: Practical Insights for Business Leaders”.
The session was led by Sergii Shelpuk, AI Consulting Expert with 15+ years of experience helping global enterprises adopt AI at scale. The webinar focused on separating hype from reality around AI agents, with data, real-world examples, and technical fundamentals. Here are some of the key takeaways.
Beating humans on benchmarks doesn’t mean replacing them.
AI computer vision systems have outperformed radiologists on certain X-ray and CT scan analysis tasks since 2017. Eight years later, radiologists remain among the top 10 most in-demand healthcare professions in the US. The takeaway: outperforming humans on a benchmark and automating their job are two very different things. Some companies that laid off workforce to replace them with agents are now hiring those people back.
AI agents have a built-in math problem that no engineering can fully solve.
If you chain five agents together, each 90% reliable on its own, the overall chain reliability drops to roughly 59% — dangerously close to a coin toss. This error accumulation is mathematical, not a bug to be fixed. It explains why the most successful agent deployments keep humans in the loop for critical decisions and limit each individual agent to no more than three tools.
Most of what is sold as “agentic AI” isn’t.
Gartner screened thousands of vendors claiming to offer agentic AI and found only about 130 that were real. The rest simply rebranded existing chatbots or RPA tools — a practice Gartner calls “agent washing.” Meanwhile, MIT research found that 95% of enterprise AI pilot programs fail to generate measurable financial returns. The technology works, but only when tied to clear business value, not hype.
100% of attendees indicated interest in taking next steps with AI agents after the session, with 58% rating their likelihood at the highest possible score.
