About the Client

Builtgenix is a construction technology company focused on transforming how builders move from design to execution. To enhance its workflows, the company set out to improve the way quantities are extracted from Virtual Twins. The goal was to accelerate Bill of Materials (BOM) generation, reduce manual verification, increase accuracy, and enable real-time access to both data and Virtual Twins.

Challenge

Data was siloed, error-prone, and required significant time and resources to stitch together. The opportunity lay in accelerating the automation of Bill of Materials (BOM) generation and making it accessible online, eliminating the manual, time-consuming process of composition and resolving inefficiencies in data accessibility.

Main Goals

The project’s primary objectives were to:

• Develop a plugin to extract and compile relevant data automatically
• Implement a proprietary data extraction algorithm for accurate data sorting
• Optimize their API for web integration to provide real-time access to data
• Reduce the overall computation processing time

Solution

To upgrade and optimize slow and manual data extraction workflow, Edvantis designed and implemented a complete automation system that connected virtual twin files directly to a client-facing web portal.

We developed a custom application plugin that automatically extracts key material and quantity data from Virtual Twin files. This information is then processed through a proprietary algorithm to generate highly accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). The results are delivered in real time to a secure online portal, where clients can view, download, or request updates to both their BOMs and Virtual Twins.

On the backend, we built the infrastructure and APIs to store data securely, manage client-specific configurations, and incorporate user feedback into future versions of the system.

As a result, the BOM generation process became significantly faster and more reliable, reducing turnaround time from 8 days to just 3–4 days while improving overall data accuracy. Clients now have real-time access to precise, validated data, enabling better decision-making and smoother project execution.
